Agatha Christie Challenge





Agatha Christie, salah satu penulis cerita misteri yang karya nya tak lekang oleh waktu, bahkan penerbit Gramedia pun sering mencetak ulang buku-buku karyanya. Agatha Christie terkenal dengan tokoh detektif ciptaanya yaitu Hercule Poirot dan Jane Marple, namun banyak sekali novel stand-alone/ one shot (bukan cerita Poirot dan Marple) tentang konspirasi, misteri dan kisah cinta romantis bahkan novel misteri yang sama sekali tidak ada Detektif nya seperti And Then There Were None.
Pengalamanya menjadi perawat pada saat perang, Ia menjadi lebih tahu mengenai toksin, farmasi dan bahan-bahan kimia lainya, yang sering kali muncul dalam ceritanya sebagai alat pembunuhan.
Christie memiliki minat seumur hidup terhadap arkeologi. Dia bertemu dengan suami keduanya, Sir Max Mallowan, seorang arkeolog terkemuka, dalam perjalanan ke situs penggalian di Ur pada tahun 1930. Namun ketenarannya sebagai penulis jauh melampaui ketenarannya dalam bidang arkeologi.

Review dan Ulasan Novel Klasik Agnes Grey - Anne Brontë

Novel Agnes Grey merupakan buku ber-genre Bildungsroman dan sebenarnya aku baru mengetahui apa itu genre bildungsroman, apa termasuk genre ya? menurut Wikipedia, Bildungsroman adalah genre sastra yang menitikberatkan tema pendidikan manusia serta proses perjalanan pribadi tokoh-tokohnya dari awal pertumbuhannya menuju kedewasaan. Yaap, Novel ini merupakan coming of age-nya tokoh protagonis Agnes Grey. Cerita dan perjalanan Agnes sendiri menuju kedewasaan, pencarian jati diri dan kemandirianlah yang bisa dijadikan pembelajaran oleh pembaca. Selain Agnes Grey, aku juga telah membaca novel serupa seperti Jane Eyre karya Charlote Brontë (saudara kandung Anne Brontë), Great Expectations karya Dickens, Little Woman karya Louisa May Alcott, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn karya Betty Smith dan masih banyak lagi novel serupa yang telah saya baca dan belum sempat di-review, hupppss. Novel bildungsroman mempunyai peranan penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hariku, salah satunya memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang karakter seseorang, tidak membuatku menjadi judgemental, dan juga membantu memahami konflik dalam kehidupan nyata.

Review Great Expectations - Charles Dickens


Great Expectations

Great Expectations menyusuri sebuah Autobiografi seorang anak yatim piatu, tidak terkenal benama Philip Pirrip, namun mereka memanggilnya Pip. Seumur hidup Pip belum pernah melihat orang tua nya, di atas  makam dan batu nisan orangtuanya lah tempat nya ia bisa sendirian membanyangkan seperti apa sosok kedua orang tua nya. 


Tiba-tiba, seorang pria yang mengerikan, menggeram, berpakaian compang-camping, dan dengan kaki diikat, muncul dari balik batu nisan dan menangkap Pip. Narapidana yang melarikan diri ini mempertanyakan Pip dengan kasar dan menuntut agar Pip membawakannya makanan, pisau belati dan kikir.
